Our policies
Environmental policy
The conservation of the environment is of considerable importance to us, and, as a result every employee has a responsibility to ensure that due care and attention is continually taken concerning these matters.
Employee’s awareness to the conservation of the environment is regularly kept to the forefront. Supervisors and Managers will constantly remind employees of the following:
- Biodegradable Materials to be used as a preference, and where applicable, over ‘possible harmful’ products. All staff to constantly review new and alternative products that are environmentally friendly as they become available.
- All sites to use ‘Micro fibre’ cloths. Therefore reducing the use of any cleaning products.
- Recycle relevant materials as and when possible. Always use Client’s Recycling Points within premises. Other Recyclable products to be sent to Local Authority Site.
- Encourage Clients to have a recycling programme. Offer recycling bins and points within the office, shop or school premises.
Enterprise Cleaning always ensures our Suppliers take positive measures to reduce waste and offer Environmentally Friendly products first and foremost.
Health and safety policy
Employee's awareness to Health & safety is regularly kept to the forefront. Supervisors and Managers will constantly remind employees to:
- Make themselves aware of, and abide by Health and Safety regulations of those clients in whose premises you may be working.
- Immediately familiarise themselves with the buildings fire exits.
- Regularly check equipment they use and report immediately any fault or defect to their supervisor.
- The importance of avoiding the spreading of infectious or contagious disease or illness and any such outbreak must be reported immediately to the supervisor, in order to prevent such an occurrence. Always pay attention to colour coding.
- Any accident, however trivial, must be reported to the supervisor or manager, where details will be entered into the accident book for further reference.
- Always use and wear any protective clothing / equipment which may be relevant to the particular task. I.E. Always wear rubber gloves when using water / water based substances.
- Regularly view working premises for hazards. I.E. New computer leads stretching across floor, and report to supervisor, who can in turn inform other employees.
- Always ventilate areas when using chemicals.
- Never mix chemicals.
- Always use 'SAFETY SIGNS' where appropriate.
First aid kits will be provided by Enterprise Cleaning and carried by supervisors in their vehicles. All staff must familiarise themselves with the building first aid facilities.
A trained first aide or doctor must deal with accidents resulting in serious injury to an employee. If none are available the person discovering the accident must telephone for an ambulance by dialling 999.
We encourage every employee to make suggestions or comment upon safety matters to their supervisor or manager, particularly if they should identify an otherwise unknown safety hazard.
All supervisors and managers will be trained in matters of Health & Safety at work, and useful publications on relevant subjects are readily available upon request.
Finally, Enterprise Cleaning considers any negligence shown towards any aspects of Health and Safety very serious, and this point will regularly be brought to the attention of Enterprise Cleaning employees.
